The following is the BSA Weekly Caregiver Newsletter for week of 10/26-10/30:
Announcement #1: From the Dean of Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity
Thank you to all the caregivers who joined us for our first virtual Latina/Latinx History Month Celebration. We had an incredible time dancing, talking, and hearing music from one of our students. Please stay tuned for more monthly virtual BSA events.
A reminder that our D.E.A.R. Latinx reading challenge continues. It is entitled “Drop Everything and Read Across the Diaspora.”
We are challenging staff, students, and parents to select a book for personal and classroom reading written by a Latina/Latinx/Latino author. Take a picture of yourself reading that book and share the book’s name with the BSA community. Students can share their selection with their teachers or Champion; staff members can share with their colleagues, and parents can share it with their child. The challenge began on Monday, October 12th, and will continue all school year.
Announcement #2: REMINDER: First Marking Period Ends SOON!
Also, this is a reminder that the first marking period ends on Friday, November 6th. Please be sure to check in with your child and their teachers about their current grades and class exams.
Announcement #3: Vote !

As you know this year the country is voting for president of the United States as well as many other key political positions both locally and nationally. If there was ever a year for your voice to be heard it is 2020.
We urge you to make a promise to yourself and your community to vote in this election.
