Sports Update: Go Warriors!

A Note from Ms. Huffin, BSA’s Athletic Director:

Both Varsity Boys Basketball Teams (A & B) won in our BSA MLK tournament. It was a great turn out and we appreciate all the support! In addition, the Boy’s Varsity “A” Team had a strong week of basketball going 2-1. Our Girls Basketball Team started their season this week going 0-2, but it was exciting to see their progress from game 1 to game 2! Come out and support the Girls Team tomorrow for their game at Success HSLA Manhattan at 12:00 PM.

Opportunities for YOU, Warriors!

Optimize your 2023 Spring Semester by earning entry-level skills and gaining paid work experience with the Work-Based Learning Spring Internship Program! This internship program is designed to provide IEP and ESL students, ages 14-15 years old, resume-building opportunities and direct mentorship to support them in developing transferable work and life skills. If you are interested in participating in this Internship Program, be sure to check your emails for the applications and be ready to join our Quarter 3 Internship Club this coming week! Contact Ms. Samantha Bellony with any questions at sbellony@door.org/(917)693.4984 or visit her in Room 208!

A Note From Dean Weber:

Students are wrapping up Semester 1 with “Revisions Week” where they are making up missing work and reviewing important concepts.  Our scholars are also making good use of Office Hours after school to make sure they are on top of their work as the semester ends.  We are preparing them to succeed in Semester 2, adjusting some schedules and switching up clubs so students have their best fit.
