African-American & Latino Club

Mission: To empower our school wide community through a celebration of our African-American and Latina Culturas via weekly meetings with club member leadership facilitated by Ms. Leelam and Señora Coronel.
Woke Wednesday’s Club
Leader: Ms. Glantz
Where: Dance Studio
When: Wednesdays 3:30-4:30 PM
Mission: In this club we will unwind and achieve balance through the practice of Yoga. Be open to the experience and come as you are! Feel free to bring sweatpants or stretchy clothes to wear. We will provide Yoga mats, snacks, and more!

Mission: Poetry, in it’s complex nature, has a beautiful and unique voice. We will explore, within our writings, an awakening! We will have weekly ‘short writing samples’, venture into various types of poetic writing and will decipher the poet’s message!
Operation Young Adult Club
Leader: Mr. Bryant
Where: Room 414
When: Thursdays 3:30-4:30 PM
Mission: To teach young adults life skills through life experiences.
The program is designed to teach life skills all relevant to today’s youth, as well as, bridging the gap of those who came before them.

Hello again BSA community, we invite your child to wear a t-shirt or bring a flag that celebrates their Latino/Latinx culture on Thursday 10/14 and/or Friday 10/15 as we close out our celebration of Latino/Latinx History Month!
- Drills: Starting this week, BSA will be starting announced and unannounced fire and emergency drill procedures as required by law.
- In NYS, minors 14 to 17 years old are mandated to have Working Papers for legal paid employment and internships. Get ready for those opportunities by applying for your Working Papers NOW with Ms. Bellony. Click the link here for instructions on how to apply, a copy of the application, and more information about how to use your Working Papers. Physical copies can be picked up from Ms. Bellony in Room 212 on the 2nd Floor.
- Community Service Hours: Participating in or planning your own community service project invites opportunities to gain new skills, experiences, broaden your network and bolster your resume! Not to mention BSA asks all students to earn 60 hours of community service hours by graduation.
