Broome Street Academy (BSA) was invited to participate in SUNY Charter Schools Institute’s “Active Ingredients” project. Through this pilot, SUNY is supporting schools in finding ways to assess and report on non-traditional measures that contribute to student success.

We selected mental health services as our active ingredient to share the relationship between school engagement and the availability of mental health supports. At BSA, every student has access to dedicated and qualified mental health professionals who provide group or individual, clinical and mental health services.

Our staff work with students to eliminate any barriers and ensure students are on track to academic success. A SUNY film crew was on-site in December to interview the team supporting the pilot project. We’re thrilled with how the video came out – check it out!
