The Broome Street Academy Charter High School will prepare our young people for post-secondary success that leads to positive life outcomes. What You Will Be Doing:

  • Teach SETSS and/or the equivalent responsibilities
  • Record proper attendance for every class
  • Ensure students achieve goals set forth in SUNY Accountability Plan
  • Update gradebook weekly
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students
  • Prepare students for all required assessments
  • Actively pursue certification and/or professional development
  • Communicate regularly with caregivers
  • Maintain a welcoming and safe classroom environment and engage in effective and appropriate classroom management
  • Prepare goals for student IEPs in consultation with staff and Dean
  • Complete data collection regarding daily student performance; complete quarterly reports and educational assessments; participate in analysis of behavioral data and work collaboratively with student’s team

What We Are Looking For:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree; Dual-certification and/or experience with Special Education highly preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in subject area as shown by significant undergraduate or graduate coursework in content area or New York State teaching certification
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate assessments
  • Familiarity with trauma informed practice
  • Effective work ethic as a team member
