Dafina Westbrooks

In July 2020, Dafina Westbrooks became the first Broome Street Academy Charter School leader promoted to Director of Equity, Inclusion, & Diversity. 

This germinal role culminates over 16 years in education as a thought leader and change agent focused on ensuring all students get the tools necessary to thrive in district and charter schools. 

Dafina joined BSA in 2017 and quickly found she loves partnering with The Door to maximize our SoHo location and unique resources to create young leaders ready to share their gifts and voice with our world. 

Dafina graduated from the School of Public and International Affairs at Baruch College, holds a professional school building leader's license, and completed the New Leaders Aspiring Principals Program. Dafina is a proud Eph and Williams College alumni who branched into education through the New York City Teaching Fellows program and remains committed to this quote from James Baldwin- "For these are all our children, we will all profit by or pay for what they become."
