Acting Head of School and Chief Accountability Officer

Jill Glassbrook is an accomplished school leader with a track record of driving instructional improvement, leading school turnaround efforts, and advancing equity-centered practices in public education. She currently serves as Acting Head of School and Chief Accountability Officer at Broome Street Academy (BSA), where she is leading efforts to strengthen academic systems, align instruction, and expand opportunity for students.

Jill brings two decades of experience in education, including leadership roles as a founding school principal and Chief Curriculum Officer at PAVE Academy Charter School and as Dean of Students, Director of Special Services and Principal in residence at Achievement First. Jill served as Interim Head of School at BSA in 2019 and recently returned to support the school’s renewal and turnaround work. Jill began her career working with incarcerated youth as the Site Supervisor for a wrap-around AmeriCorps program in Bloomington, IN and went on to become a therapeutic behavior disorders teacher via Teach For America in Newark, NJ. Jill's passion for education reform is evident through her deep commitment to increasing educational equity and access.

In addition to her school-based leadership, Jill is the Founder and Executive Director of Future Leaders Incubator, MJR Love and NYC Teach Fabulous! Jill's work is centered on initiatives that develop educators and advance inclusive, affirming practices for LGBTQ+ youth and historically underserved communities. Jill’s leadership is defined by a commitment to rigorous, student-centered instruction and the belief that schools should be places where all young people are seen, valued, and positioned to thrive.
