Lynnette Ford, MSA

Head of School

Lynnette Ford is a lifelong New Yorker and a proud product of New York City public schools. As Broome Street Academy Head of School, she is deeply committed to the belief that every young person deserves high-quality instruction within a nurturing and supportive environment. Lynnette obtained her BSW degree from York College and her MSW degree and CASAC certificate from Adelphi University. She holds a Licensed Master of Social Work degree and dedicated 26 years to the nonprofit sector. Her professional journey commenced at the Jamaica Community Adolescent Program, where she led a highly successful alternative-to-incarceration initiative for justice-involved youth. During her tenure there, she developed various programs to cater to the educational needs of our young individuals, including educational and social-emotional interventions. She held subsequent leadership roles at Queens Village Committee for Mental Health, Faith Mission Crisis Center, National AIDS Treatment Advocacy Project, and GMHC. Most recently, Lynnette served as the Chief Program Officer at BSA’s partner organization The Door, overseeing the comprehensive range of integrated services, such as adolescent health, legal support, nutrition, housing, services for runaway and homeless youth, mental health, and career education, and post-secondary readiness programs. In this role, she engaged with BSA leadership and students, forging collaborations to ensure that BSA students have access to the full spectrum of services offered by The Door.
